For more than 30 years, Jackie Townsend Konstanturos has been turning underdogs into market leaders. She started her own business, The Townsend Agency, in 1993 to help science and technology companies grow. She has since helped countless clients succeed, providing support for HNC Software and Qualcomm as they traversed through the rigors of an IPO establishing public companies like ARM and pSemi Corporation (formerly Peregrine Semiconductor) improve market presence. She sold The Townsend Agency in 2007. Yet, it was her expertise for helping startups launch disruptive offerings that led her to create a methodology for helping companies to quickly identify their unique positioning and platform, and effectively communicate it to the marketplace.
Known for her ability to build outstanding teams, she formed her current business, The Townsend Team, to help companies do just that. Her work has become the standard by which successful branding, marketing, and public relations campaigns are measured.
Jackie is the former chief marketing officer of BioSurplus and CEO of Restorative Remedies, and is an original founding member of San Diego Mission Ventures, a local venture capital firm. She has also served on the advisory board of MIT Enterprise Forum and as a board member of the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. She is a multiple times finalist for the E&Y Entrepreneur of the year award and was honored with the Businessperson of the Year by the Small Business Association. She also won a Best Practice Award from Arthur Anderson for her employee retention program.
Jackie graduated summa cum laude from Wright State University with her master’s in industrial psychology and earned bachelor’s degrees in psychology and liberal studies from California State University, Long Beach, also graduating summa cum laude.
